The number-one reason to join JSSPTA is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school. But there are many more advantages. Here are just a few:
Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school than by becoming a member of JSSPTA.
Discover Great Resources. The PTA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.
Tap into a Network. Parenting is not easy…it helps to share ideas, concerns and experiences with other parents and educators in the community. JSSPTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, build rapport and discuss issues that are on your mind.
Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with JSSPTA, you gain valuable experiences. It’s an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good cause–your child, his school, and all children in the community.
Speak Up. Because the PTA is a forum for exchanging ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions. PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest and implement change at your child’s school, in the local school District and beyond.
Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTAs play an important role in advocating for the passage of local and state initiatives and bond measures to fund building improvements. It seeks funds to enhance curriculum-based and enrichment programs and to provide social events for children and families–all vital to a school’s success.
Be a Role Model. By becoming a member of JSSPTA, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
For less than 3 cents a day, you can become a member of JSSPTA, joining nearly 6 million other people who share your interest in issues affecting children. Everyone–parents, educators, students and other citizens interested in their schools and communities–are invited to join our not-for-profit organization.
