Although PTA offers several fund raising alternatives throughout the year in which you can choose to participate, our ability to raise funds through those programs is somewhat limited, and is not sufficient to pay for all the activities our children enjoy. Also, because of increasing cuts in funding for the necessities, our PTA, like many others in our area, are having to step in to help pay for things like educational materials, paper, pencils, pens and other items our students need for a quality education.
But we need your help! We are asking that every family consider making a direct financial donation to the PTA. Our goal this year is earn $10,000 and have 100% participation. Even though we are a public school, as district and state cuts continue, your support is more important than ever in order for PTA to maintain what it has already achieved and to reach new goals.
Following are some examples* of how your pledge drive funds may be spent during the coming year:
- Your pledge of $50 can fund the Art Docent program for an entire classroom for the year.
- Your pledge of $100 can fund the purchase of P.E. equipment for an entire semester.
- Your pledge of $250 can pay for an entire school bus for a classroom field trip.
- Your pledge of $1,000 can pay for one educational assembly for the entire school.
Whatever amount you donate, you can be sure that 100% of the funds will be put back into Justice Street School. We hope you’ll agree this is a small price to pay for continued excellence in the classroom and an enhanced educational experience for your child. All donations are tax deductible and you will receive an acknowledgment letter upon receipt of your payment which shall serve as evidence of your donation for tax purposes.
We will soon add a link to accept donations online. In the meantime, fill out a Pledge Response Form with your donation, attach a check made payable to Justice Street School PTA and return it to your child’s teacher.
